Before buying a slim rolling cart
A narrow cart can add convenient storage, but a tight gap is not automatically a useful home for it. Check where the wheels, handle and your hands will go before ordering.

Measure the complete envelope
Use the widest external dimension, including handles and any wheels that project beyond the frame. Measure the gap at the floor and higher up, since skirting boards and counter overhangs may narrow it. Leave access to appliance ventilation and service points according to the appliance instructions; do not fill a gap merely because the cart fits.
Compare the right model
IKEA Canada lists RÅSKOG carts in more than one size, including 35 × 45 × 77 cm and 28 × 38 × 61 cm. Those examples show why a familiar product name alone is not enough for comparison. Check the exact dimensions on the item you intend to buy rather than relying on an older review or photograph.
Plan how it moves
Draw the cart's outline on cardboard and pull it along its intended route. Check thresholds, corners, drawer fronts and the space needed to turn. A cart that must be emptied to move around a corner is not convenient storage. If you want to keep it parked, consider whether fixed shelving in an already available space would be simpler.
Assign a job to each shelf
Choose the items before buying the cart. Taller bottles may not fit between shelves, while small packets can slip through an open frame. Follow the load limits and assembly guidance and avoid placing heavy items high up. Do not use a general utility cart as a seat or step. A narrow cart works best when it stores a defined group of everyday items rather than absorbing all the room's overflow.
